Experimental Investigations on the Response of Bedload Sediment to Vibration

Research results on sediment vibration characteristics are scarce, and knowledge the effect of particle size response is still limited. In this study, natural pebbles different heights—A, B C—were selected (hA < hB hC). Miniature acceleration sensors were installed inside pebble. Experimental methods used to measure process rough bed surface near-bed velocities simultaneously. The test show that sequence pebble entrainment A-C-B as flow rate increases. intensity A tended increase before approaching threshold but weakened when threshold; frequency, contrary, first decreased then increased. C increased, threshold, it rolled directly. frequency increased decreased, near there was no vibration. Thus, demonstrated with in height, average increases, decreases. research provide a reference for exploring dynamic mechanism load mountain rivers.
